Linden Elementary Stats and Grades
According to the 2007 Report Card issued by the Tennessee Department of Education, Linden Elementary is in good standing and meets all benchmarks of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
Average daily membership in the reporting period was 297 students. Of that total, 92.7% were white, 5.7% were African-American, and .7% were Hispanic.
Economically disadvantaged children were numbered at 241, or 69.3%.
The student population was 45% and 55% female and male, respectively.
NCLB benchmarks were met in all testing areas: math, and reading/language arts/writing.
Attendance rate at Linden Elementary 94.7%, higher than the state goal of 93%.
Academic achievement grades, based on TCAP testing, were as follows: math, "B," below the state average of "A"; reading/language arts, "C," below the state average of "B"; social studies, "C," below the state average of "B"; science, "C," below the state average of "B." TCAP scores showed no change in any subject area from the 2006 testing.
Fifth and eighth TCAP Writing grades were not reported.
Promotion rate at Linden Elementary was 98.4%, higher than the state average of 97%.
Two suspensions were reported for the year, both white males. There were no expulsons.
One hundred percent of the courses were taught by "highly qualified teachers."
Linden Elementary serves students in grades pre-K through fourth.
