The Perry County Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Vision Perry, is getting ready to produce and distribute a county-wide directory of all businesses in Perry County. This directory will be made available at welcome centers around the state, and at our own Welcome Center.

Although all businesses will be listed, Chamber members will have a brief paragraph describing their business and a picture or image of their logo. This would be a great time to join the Chamber and increase exposure to your business in this publication.

Another project the Chamber is working on is setting up Welcome Packets for new residents of the county. All businesses in the county are invited to participate in giving an advertisement item, such as key chains, paper pads, calendars, pens, etc.

Another innovation of this Welcome Packet will be a coupon booklet for participating businesses, such as a percentage off a first time purchase or dinner from a restaurant, to encourage new residents to visit their business and get acquainted. These coupons will be included in the Welcome Packet, along with the county-wide directory and items donated by merchants.

MLEC’s office will be distributing the Welcome Packets to new residents when they connect their electric service. The hope is that this gift will help ease a newcomer’s transition to the area, and will make them feel welcome to Perry County.
