History of the Chamber and Future Plans...

Our Chamber of Commerce was established in 2006.  While we are not very old, we are very enthusiastic about the value a Chamber can bring to the County with the cooperation of all our businesses and residents working together to enrich our economic and cultural growth.

Pat Vanden Bosche was chosen as the first Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce in July of 2006.  Her office is currently in the Perry County Community Center.  The plans are for the new Welcome Center to be built on Main Street, across from City Hall in Linden.  

Many folks have asked about the new Welcome Center.  Yes, we are going to build it, and it will be a place where visitors, businesses and residents alike can come to find out what is going on in our County.  We hope to be in our new Center by Christmas 2008.  Since State grant monies are being used to build the Center, we are working toward complying with all their rules and regs, not an easy feat!

We are members of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives, and have participated in the Institute training made available through the generosity of scholarships from other members.  We are pursuing economic development training, as well as tourism training to support the County's efforts to move in this direction.
