Located in the Flatwoods community, the building was originally constructed 1909-11 as a residence and office for Dr. Richard Bromley.  Due to the amount of local business and hunting activity in the area, Dr. Bromley enlarged the house into a "hotel", and built an adjacent medical clinic.  Dr. Bromley is remembered as one of the last practicing physicians in Flatwoods.  Bromley Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
